T'AI CHI CHUAN, YANG STYLE (10
Movement Yang Style Form)
Patty offers two levels of
Tai Chi training at this time:
Beginner Level: This class consists of 30 minutes
of warm ups including QiGong and drills, and is followed by 30 minutes of
form work on the 10 Movement Yang Style form (a very basic beginners
form). This class progresses through the 10 movement form forwards
and reverse (or mirror image) and through the 16 movement form (advanced
beginners form), forwards and reverse. (Participants of this class can move
on to the Advanced Class when they have demonstrated proficiency of the
afore mentioned forms, forwards and reverse.) The beginners class is
open to all adults over 18 and for all fitness levels. It is also
very gentle on the body and helps to create greater balance, flexibility
and stamina as well as reduce stress and increase relaxation. The
term "Meditation in Motion" has been applied to Tai Chi by many.
Advanced Level: This
class consists of 30 minutes of warm ups including QiGong and drills, and
is followed by 30 minutes of form work on the 24 Movement Yang Style form
(forwards and reverse) - this is the core form of all Yang Style Tai
Chi Chuan. Participants of this class are required to have learned
and demonstrate proficiency in the 10 and 16 Movement Yang Style forms both
forwards and reverse, or demonstrate proficiency in Yang Style Tai Chi to
the teacher's satisfaction. This class will also go on to learn the
45 movement form and possible weapons forms which may or may not include
Fan and Sword forms.

Reiki Levels I, II and III
classes (Master Practitioner & Reiki Master Teacher) -- Classes
include attunement, certificate of completion, and manual for each level
and are regularly scheduled in Patty's home office space, at 510 Engelhart Dr., in
Madison. (Directions/map)
Classes are six to seven hours in length and are $175 for each level. A $25
deposit is required upon signing up for the class. The charge for the
Reiki Master Teacher class is $250 (four 2-3 hour classes). Preparation for
a Reiki class requires that you consume no alcohol or caffeinated beverages
for two-three days prior to the class, and follow a healthy diet consisting
of lots of organic fruits and vegetables. Drinking lots of pure,
fresh water is advised. Call Patty for further information:
608/467-7033.
Certification as a Reiki Master Teacher is dependent on the satisfactory
completion of written home work, demonstration of attunements, and
knowledge of class materials expressed verbally in the classes. If you are
unable to accomplish this during the course of the regularly scheduled
classes you may need to repeat the course with other students or schedule
additional class time for an additional fee before you receive your
certification.
Prior students may review or audit a reiki class for $25.
Review/audit does not include an attunement, manual or certificate.
The student may sit in and go over the material with the rest of the class
and get in practice time and some free reiki. Review/audit is only
available for Levels I, II, and III Master Practitioner. Not
available for Reiki Master Teacher classes at this time.
Upcoming Reiki classes: No classes scheduled at
this time.
The class dates listed are specific times/dates set
aside to hold Reiki classes. If none of these dates/times fit
your needs, please do not hesitate to call and Patty will arrange a class
for you that fits your timetable. Patty is available for classes
every day of the week including Saturday and Sunday! Spreading out a class
into two days is also a very viable alternative if you don't have a full
day to dedicate to the training. Patty has a lot of flexibility
in her schedule.
After becoming a student of Patty's, you are entitled
to receive a discounted rate of $37.50 for Reiki sessions with her.
-
Reiki Sessions - Please contact Patty to schedule an appointment:
608/467-7033. Patty
is available for Reiki Sessions every day of the week including Saturday
and Sunday, unless there has been a class scheduled. Patty's office hours
are: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm weekdays, 10:00 am -5:00 pm Saturday, and 11:00 am
- 3:00 pm Sundays (subject to availability). Sessions can be
scheduled at Patty's home office on Engelhart Dr. (Directions/map)
Reiki session are $55 (sessions are 1 hour in length typically, but can
run longer). Purchasing multiple Reiki sessions may be an option for
you. A three-session package is $140.00; a five-session package is
$233.00 Reiki, like massage, is a process and requires multiple
sessions. As there is no predicting how many sessions you might need
for any particular condition, purchasing blocks of sessions at a discount
is more economical.
New Reiki session information (two-practitioner sessions):
Introducing a different take on Reiki sessions. It is common
knowledge that Usui Sensei's Reiki Clinic in Tokyo (and Hayashi's) employed
two-practitioner teams working on one individual at a time. For some
time, I have been drawn to this idea and am now making it a reality.
I am offering this unique service to my clients at a cost of
$75/hour*. I and another Reiki practitioner that I have trained will
perform as a two-person Reiki team for approximately one hour (running over
is common in a Reiki session, at no extra charge) . Not only is this
a more efficient way of doing a Reiki session but it also can be a more
powerful experience for the client.
During the session, when appropriate we employ a technique called
"mirroring" which means that each Reiki practitioner will
be working on the same area on opposite sides of the body at the same time
(for example - right shoulder, left shoulder, right arm, left arm,
right knee, left knee, etc), a very profound experience, as felt and
experienced by myself and my students during classes and Reiki
shares. To kick off this very special offering an introductory
rate of $60 to the first 10 people to schedule a session will apply.
* appointments subject to the availability of both practitioners.

PRANIC HEALING:
Patty incorporates Pranic Healing into a session if she feels drawn to do
so, and does not offer separate Pranic Healing sessions at this time.
-
DISTANT REIKI
HEALING - In the Reiki tradition, healing energy can be sent out
over distance. You can request Distant Reiki for yourself, a loved, a
situation, or pet from Patty. Reiki is not governed by time or
space, therefore Reiki can be sent anywhere in the world, to the past or to
the future. The fee for this service is $15. Patty sends out
Reiki on a daily basis.
Patty also hosts a Distant Reiki Network for her
students, their friends, families and pets. As a student of Patty's, you
are eligible to join this group. When someone has a request for
healing, they pass it along to Patty and she sends it out to the Distant
Healing Group. This is a common practice among Reiki teachers.
-
Reiki Shares - Held twice a month
(specific days, times and locations vary). Updates will be posted on
the website monthly. The Reiki Shares are held for the benefit of
Patty's Reiki students and other Reiki practitioners that are personally
invited. A Reiki Share is an event where Reiki practitioners get
together to practice their skills, share their experiences, get some free
Reiki, and have their questions answered by their teacher. Also it is
a good time for the teacher to share new techniques or pass along new
information. The day, time and location of this event is subject to change
- please call ahead to RSVP (608/467-7033) or email Patty (Patty@RainbowWomanReiki.com).
Fee for attending a Reiki Share is $10.
Future share dates: No Reiki shares scheduled at
this time
- Reiki
Introduction/Demonstration - These intro/demo sessions
are usually held monthly on Saturday or Sunday afternoons at the Wil-Mar
Community Center, 953 Jenifer St., Madison, WI. (map/directions) This event is an informal talk about
what Reiki is: the history of Reiki, its many health benefits, how it feels
like to get a Reiki session, how to become Reiki, and much more.
There is a question and answer segment at the end of the discussion.
The first three people to walk in the door receive 10-15 minutes FREE
Reiki chair session at the end of the Introduction. Call to
RSVP as space is limited - 608/467-7033 or email (Patty@RainbowWomanReiki.com).

organized a second Community Reiki Clinic that will be held at Spiritual
Vibes, 2733 Atwood Ave., Madison, once a month. The demand was
so great that we felt two were needed. First one: Sunday, July
17th (corrected date) from 12:30-3:30. Call Theresa to make an appointment
for 30 minutes of Reiki for a donation ($10-20 suggested) 920/623-5765.
WOMEN'S SPIRITUALITY SUPPORT GROUP
This
group was formed at the request of many of Patty's students and friends who
felt that they had no one to talk to about the many changes and
transformations that were taking place in their lives, because of the
choices they were making to pursue areas of spiritual growth or healing
modalities that were not mainstream, and wanted to meet other like-minded
individuals for sharing, support and discussion. The group meets on Sunday
afternoons, twice a month, from 4:30-6:30 pm at the Wil-Mar Community Center, 953 Jenifer St.,
Madison, WI (map/directions). We are in the Mendota room. I
will have my assistant looking out for you but just in case, to find the
room, come in the front entrance (faces Brearly and the parking lot), turn
right, go down the hall way, turn left and go up the stairs, head all the
way back and turn left. We are in the small room to the right off
that back hallway. Utilizing an open forum, you can share your
experiences, get your questions answered, and feel supported around the
things you are doing on your path.
Patty
also brings in many local Spiritual leaders or professionals in the healing
arts to expose you to all that is available to you in the Madison
area. The meeting begins with The Loving Kindness Meditation (free
CD's of this meditation available at the meetings). There is a $5 charge
for each meeting. "FREE" parking is
available across the street in the front of the center on Brearly.
Space is limited so please RSVP: 608/467-7033 or
email Patty@RainbowWomanReiki.com
to sign up for any of these events.
Sunday, July 20, 2008. CANCELLED! PATTY IS ILL
THIS WEEKEND. NEW Journal Magic! Lessons in Therapeutic
Writing. April Scheiner, a regular attendee of the Spiritual Women's
Group, recently returned from an exciting writing symposium with a project
that she would like to share with the group. It's called JOURNAL MAGIC!
Based upon the teachings of Sue Meyn, S.C., this particular class taught a
number of writing prompts that she refers to the 'magic ingredients' that
can begin an exploration of the inner mind for thoughts and journal
writing. By sharing cards with the group, made by the author and provided
by April, the group member will each pick a card with a stimulating prompt
of words and pictures that she will use to write for a group-determined
period of time. Then, if anyone wants to share her entry based upon their
card, they are invited. It's a lot of fun!
April will also introduce another idea prompt where cards are again
randomly picked and all tossed into a bowl. Each group member will
subsequently pick a card from the bowl (or hat) and again write for a
relatively short period of time again. At the group, 'journal ingredient'
cards can be picked repeatedly as time allows. We used as many as six cards
at the lecture to form stream of consciousness thinking based upon the
prompt cards. This is a particularly fun and helpful game for writing
prompts at home to get you rolling on writing from these cards or those
that you make on your own. It is particularly helpful as journal prompts
for individuals keeping journals or even for writing groups. This can be a
fun game to play at home and with friends!
Sue Meyn's Journal Cards can be found at www.JournalMagic.com
along with the book 'Journal Magic' which is a helpful guide to this
process. But all that you need to bring to the July 20 meeting are paper,
pens, and an openness to magic writing! I hope to see you all there.

Sunday, August 3, 2008. Deb Bachman of the Ki Center (www.kioflife.com): Introduction
to Tao Shiatsu Revolutionary Healing Method. The hands-on Oriental
medical therapy of Tao Shiatsu is the study of the flow of energy in the
body. This vital life energy is known as “ki” in Japanese
("chi" in Chinese). Pain and disease are understood to result
from blockages in a person’s ki channels. When these blockages are
released by applying ki pressure to treatment points, energy is able to
move freely and symptoms are relieved. Participants will experience
Oriental Medicine’s core principle - the interconnected nature of body,
mind and spirit - through Ki (energy) training exercises and hands-on
shiatsu practice. There will also be information about the Tao Shiatsu
training program beginning this September. For more information please
contact the Tao Sangha Center at 608-257-4663 or usa@taoshiatsu.com and visit www.taoshiatsu.com.
Everyone is welcome! Deborah Bachmann received her training in Japan at the
International School of Tao Shiatsu. She has been a shiatsu practitioner
since 1995 and directs the Tao Sangha Center and Tao Shiatsu clinic on
Madison's Eastside.
Sunday, August 31, 2008. Betty Frye will be doing a talk on
Intuitive Development. Betty Frey, SBWF, SM, RMP, is a Shamanic Breathwork
Facilitator, Shamanic Minister and Reiki Master. She is a wife, mother and
grandmother and appreciates the joys and struggles surrounding these
beautiful blessings. Betty has trained with Venus Rising in North Carolina,
Windemere Institute of Healing Arts and studied with various teachers in
and outside of the Sauk Prairie area. Betty has personally experienced the
healing transformation of Breathwork and has brought that healing venue
forward so others may have the same opportunity. For seventeen years, she
worked as a Paralegal, which gave her a clear understanding of the everyday
stresses of career. Combining her background of life experience, education
and training, Betty offers Breathwork, Reiki, Gentle Guidance, Ministerial
Services and teaches a variety of classes all of which assist in
alleviating stress, anxiety, pain and trauma (old or new).
Betty enjoys spending time with family and friends, regularly attends
spiritual retreats and is deeply grateful for the many blessings in her
life. She is a member of the Association for the Integration of the Whole
Person and Sauk Prairie’s Today’s Women. She states, “I strongly
believe in the power of teaching and healing circles and invite you to
visit me at Spirit Horses Wellness Center". She can be contacted by
calling 608-963-0282.
Betty's presentation will be on Breathwork.
Breathwork uses a combination of music and breathing techniques to assist
in bringing forward the inner healing process of the client. With increased
oxygen and music, the healing process can range from the release of deep,
long lasting grief to the acceptance and celebration of great joy.
Breathwork is experiential and the wisdom and healing gained comes from
inside each person. To assist in restoring healing and balance, the
facilitator uses body energy work such as Reiki. ** Pregnant women should
not participate in Breathwork Sessions**
