T’AI CHI CHUAN YANG STYLE (CLASSIC BEIJING STYLE)
BEGINNER LEVELS: You will be instructed in 10 and 12 movement Yang Style forms (called practice forms) at the beginner level. All classes have warm up and cool down components with lots of class time for practicing the forms. The 10 and 12 movement forms take you through all the movements of the Classic Beijing 24 movement Yang Style Form. You are required to learn the 10 and the 12 backwards and forwards* before moving onto the 24 and 45 movement forms. Classes are one hour in length and are $20/class (only private instruction available at this time)
ADVANCED LEVELS: You will be instructed in the 24 and the 45 movement Yang style (Beijing) forms. Each class begins with a warm up and ends with a cool down.
When you are proficient in the 24 (backwards and forwards) you will advance on to the 45 movement form. Classes are one hour in length and are $20/class (only private instruction available at this time)
*Backwards and forwards - Each form is practiced first with stepping out with the left foot (forwards) and then stepping out with the right foot (backwards or mirror image).
This balances the form as Forwards deals with Yang (male) energy and Backwards
deals with Yin (female) energy.
T’ai Chi Iron Fan form is offered to those who complete all levels of Beginners and Advanced Classes only.Weekly Beginners Tai Chi Class. Yang Style T'ai Chi Chuan in the upper level of the Unity Church at 601 Tompkins Dr., Madison, WI, starting up on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, 10:00 - 11:15 am. Cost per class is $9.00. No experience necessary, wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and flat bottomed shoes like tennis shoes (Keds). A portion of the proceeds from this class go to Unity Church. PRIVATE TAI CHI CLASSES:
I mainly teach Tai Chi private lessons in my home, but am now offering a weekly beginners class in Yang Style T'ai Chi Chuan at Unity church (see above). Private classes are $20/class (I offer a 15% discount for those wishing to pay for 8 or more up front).

WILD GOOSE CHI GONG CLASSES:
I also teach private Chi Gong classes. These classes differ from Tai Chi
classes as they can be learned in a much briefer amount of time. If you are
interested in learning this Traditional form of Chinese Medicine, please contact me. $20/class.

How can you know if this style of Yang 'Tai Chi or Wild Goose QiQong is right for you if you don't get a little taste of it first. There are many forms of Yang Style T'ai Chi Chuan being taught in Madison and outlying areas, just like there are many dojos here offering Karate. Wear loose, comfortably clothing like sweat pants or yoga gear and flat bottomed shoes like tennis shoes.

Classes include attunement, manual, and certificate of completion (appropriate for massage therapist continuing education) and lots of practice time. You will also receive a full Reiki session from me (a $60 value). Classes are held in my home office at 510 Engelhart Dr., in Madison (Directions/map). Reiki I classes are held over a three-day period, from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm and Reiki II and Reiki IIIa (Master Practitioner) are two-day classes from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Many people prefer this way of doing classes over the 8-hour, one-day or two-day class structure and can be scheduled any day of the week (Monday-Sunday). You can schedule the days back-to-back or one day a week, or whatever else works for you. A $35 deposit at time of sign up is required.
PREPARATION FOR A REIKI CLASS:
Many students ask if there are any specific preparations advised before taking a Reiki class. Most Reiki teachers and authors of Reiki books advise the following but what you do is up to you:
It is advised that you consume no alcohol or caffeinated beverages or food containing caffeine for two to four days prior to taking a Reiki class and to follow a healthy diet - lots of fresh (organic if possible) fruits and vegetables and organic or free range meat (if you eat meat/eggs/dairy). Drinking lots of pure, fresh water for several days before and after your class is a must. Remember water conducts electricity (energy) so being fully hydrated makes for an optimum experience.
REVIEWING/AUDITING A CLASS:
My prior students may review or audit a Reiki class for Levels I, II and IIIa (Reiki Master Practitioner) for $35. Review/audit does not include an attunement, manual or certificate. A review/audit allows you to not only sit in on the class but also to participate in all the practicum components of the class (hands on training). New manuals and new hand positions have been introduced and are being utilized. The new manuals may be purchased for $15. If you are not my student, other rules apply.
REIKI MASTER TEACHER TRAINING AND PROGRAM:
I have launched a totally new and innovative program for the Reiki Master Teacher Training course. A one year intensive! Each Level of training is done in increments. EX: You will be taught how to pass the Reiki Level I attunement and how to teach the class. Then you will be required to teach 10 Level I classes, to my satisfaction before you are taught to do the Reiki Level II class and so on. You are required to attend and assist me in all the Reiki classes that I teach and to attend all the Reiki shares that I hold monthly. You and I would work very closely to help you get your Reiki business up and running. (Contact me for more details of this program) Cost for this program is $1,000 which can be paid in 4 installments or all up front.)Upcoming Scheduled Classes:

Cancelation policy: You are required to give 24-hour notice if you are unable to make your Reiki session appointment. Failure to do so will result in your being responsible for paying for the session in full.
ONCE A MONTH "DONATION ONLY" APPOINTMENTS: As a way to give back to the community, every first Sunday of the month I will be offering Reiki sessions on a "by donation" basis at the Unity Church of Madison, 601 Tompkins Drive Madison, WI 53716. 15-minute mini-Reiki chair sessions will be offered in the lower level of the church between the 8:30 and 10:30 church services. There will be donation basket set up - all donations benefit the Unity Church.
- DISTANT REIKI HEALING -
Surrogate Distant Healing is offered at $60/session. This one to one and
half hour session is performed by me in my home on a surrogate (it is
typical for Reiki practitioners to use a stuffed animal to stand in as the
client). The practitioner performs an entire Reiki session on the surrogate
intending that it act as the client, going through all the usual hand
positions that are used in a typical "hands on" healing session
paying special attention to the area/s of concern of the client (hip pain,
knee pain, back pain, migraines, sinus issues, etc). The practitioners
hands heat up, they can feel the energy coming in and if the client is
ready, energy blocks are released and cleared, the aura is swept,
everything that a client would experience if they were lying on the Reiki
table in my home. I also receive intuitive guidance during these sessions,
just like any other session. I am now offering this service. Payment is
made in advance by a post dated check made out to Patty Penner, when the
service has been performed and I have conveyed the results of the session

- FREE Reiki
Shares - My Reiki Shares are held in my home office in
Madison and are for the benefit of my Reiki students and other practitioners
who have expressed an interest in attending and have been approved by me.
A Reiki Share is a get-together whereby Reiki practitioners can practice their
skills, share their experiences, and receive Reiki from 2, 3, 4 or more Reiki
practitioners (the energy is exponentially increased by the number of
practitioners channeling Reiki at the same time meaning it is squared, so if
there are two practitioners the energy is increased by 4 or if there are 3
practitioners then the energy is increased by 9, etc or possible even greater)
Shares are also a great way to meet other practitioners, get to
know one another, and form a good support network. From time to
time, I may have new techniques, books, or information to pass along also.
All my students are elegible to attend my Reiki Shares, I just ask that you
RSVP if you plan to attend, as space is limited. Outside students may
also attend after a brief interview on the phone with me (608/467-7033).

Introduction/Demonstration - This event is an informal talk
about what Reiki is: the history of Reiki, its many health benefits, how it

In this class, you will learn methods for protecting your energy body using crystals. Topics covered will include techniques for shielding your aura from outside energies (including the Protective Cocoon Technique), methods of charging and maintaining your aura with crystals, Aura Repair techniques, exercises for protecting individual chakras, an introduction to protective jewelry, and crystal grids for protection of your body and workspace (from negativity as well as from electromagnetic pollution).
